and important information on a range of topics.  At
OneWorld, Inc. we are about informing you.

We invite you to watch throughout the year for our education programs on:
Health Literacy, Closing the Achievement Gap & Speaking Out Against Sexual Assaults & Domestic Violence.
Watch for Financial Literacy.
Look on our OneWorld TV Schedule page for more program information.

Watch your local access station for a rebroadcast of our program with Marriage and Family Therapists.  Get a
better understanding of what they do.
Maybe you could benefit from a conversation with a family therapist.

Watch also for broadcast & rebroadcast of  Cindy Brown Austin's conversation w/ N'Zinga about Cindy's book "By
The Rivers of Babylon"
It is about the Hartford Housing Project where young Black men learned to be heartless
thugs.
It is a revealing look at the power of poverty, role models, ideology and emotional pain.

If you are looking for a wonderful gift for your dad, we recommend Dr. Ezra Griffith's beautiful book "I am Your
Father, Boy."
This book is full of beautiful stories and annecdotes about life in Barbados, and the transformation
to America.  It is also an excellent tribute to his father.  People from the Caribbean (in particular) will find this
conversation lyrical and informative.  We might never be able to really "go home again," but with this book, we
can get very close to being home in our thoughts and memories.  It is a joy to read.

  • 2007 marked another milestone for OneWorld Progressive Institute, Inc.; our flagship television program:
“21st Century Conversations” has been picked up by Charter Communications- 21, WIN-TV and Nutmeg
TV.  We are also on Comcast in all Shoreline towns, and on Cablevision’s Sound View, Channel 78.

  • The program can now be seen in Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford, Milford, Orange and Woodbridge at 8PM
on Sundays.  It also airs on TeleMedia in all nine Valley Towns; we hope to have it on the air in the
Farmington Valley area by 2008, and in other areas of Hartford.  Please help us to achieve that.

  • If you have friends, relatives co-workers, or associates who live in other areas, please ask them to request
that "21st Century Conversations" be carried on their local access stations.

Once the programs are seen, the feedback is very positive.  Our recent programs on
Heart Health, Gynecologic &
Urologic Cancers and Financial Literacy have been hailed.
A major challenge is to get a higher level of visibility
in a much wider market.  With your support, we hope to do that and to continue making an increasingly
meaningful contribution to CT's inner-cities in particular, in order to close the education, health care access and
information gap for those who are most challenged.

  • We want to eliminate health care disparities; it is costing us too many young, vibrant lives. Let us all work
together to change that; our future depends on it; please watch and participate in our health forums.

  • Mentoring Initiative: We will also be launching a mentoring initiative in Sept.  We are asking African-
American & Hispanic health care professionals to mentor an African-American or Hispanic child and help
them to recognize health care as a potential career choice.  In order to eliminate health care disparities, we
    need more minority providers.

On June 9th 2008 we will celebrate 12 years of presenting informative TV programs.   We hope to be able to
present you, the viewer with many more informative programs in the future.   We welcome your suggestions and
your financial help.  We need to purchase our own equipment, and through more interactive programs, we want
to engage the broader community in more effective and productive ways.  If you live in Hamden, New Haven or
West Haven, watch our programs every Sunday at 4PM, and every Tuesday at 9PM on Comcast Channel 26.

Please check out our program information page for other listings and station times in your town.

Please visit the many pages on this web site. Once you have visited several pages, please send us feedback.
We invite you to become an integral part of
OneWorld, Inc.  We welcome your knowledge, wisdom and
understanding of the community and your expertise on all levels.  I truly appreciate your continued support;
thank you all most kindly.

Appreciatively yours,
N'Zinga Shäni, Producer

  • e) And with our children

  • What does it mean to be emotionally emancipation?

  • How does one become emotionally emancipated?

  • How can the Black Community build an Emotional Emancipation Movement?

  • What can each person do to become truly emancipated in a society where black people are very often
still not treated fairly or equitably?
