- Reducing Disparities and Improving Health Care Outcomes for
Disenfranchised Populations - Education, Financial Literacy & Building Positive Community, and on

- Our goal is the focus on those areas and on those aspects of the community where the
greatest needs exit. We want to find and bring to the community reliable information about
various aspects of health care, education and financial issues that can make a positive
difference in people's lives. Please help us to do that. Share your stories, your experiences
and your concerns with us; help us to help you and to help others. - Together we can achieve GREAT good.
- Of course, information can only make a positive difference if that information is used. We
encourage our fellow citizens to be proactive and be involved in finding solutions to the
issues about which they are concerned.
- We live in a democracy; that democracy must be challenged every day to live up to its
tenets. We the people must make that challenge. OneWorld, Inc. encourages each citizen to
get involved and help our democracy to work effectvely for all of us.
- Get involved in your public schools.
- If there is crime in your community, start a block watch.
- If you are overweight, form a walking group to help you to lose weight and stave off
diabetes.
- Do you know the symptoms of high blood pressure (BP)? Often, there are no symptoms;
that's why it is called the "silent killer." Get your blood pressure measured.
- If you are African-American or Hispanic, you are more likely to have high blood pressure.
- Reducing very salty foods can help to lower blood pressure
- If you do not have a computer, use one at the library; get informed, and get involved in your
community.
- Join a book club, or start one with your neighbors & friends. Instead of spening $10 on a
movie; read a book; go for a walk; write your own story; read to children on your block.
